Music in Felixstowe - Member Organisations

Brings premier professional musicians to local audiences presenting a wide ranging series of musical experiences twice a month throughout the year. Well known violinist Nicholas Ward leads our Felixstowe Festival Orchestra (similar to the well known Scarborough Spa Orchestra), Classic Strings, as well as other professional concerts. The range of music offered is everything from string quartets to swing jazz bands.

Our community involvement includes an annual free day “Proms on the Prom” every August Bank Holiday Monday. Community work also includes Care home visits, working with dementia groups, running a string group at a local primary school and an annual schools “musical in a day” project involving local school children and members of Felixstowe Festival Orchestra. With the orchestra we invite the 100 strong Felixstowe Community Choir to join in with big concerts throughout the year, our mission being to take free music to as much of the community as possible as well as presenting concerts of the highest standard.
