As writer and maker, I find that bookbinding and poem-making share the same need for focus, the balancing of different elements. I’ve had poems published in many magazines and published three pamphlets: No Map, Angels and Other Diptera (short-listed for the Michael Marks Award 2016) and Met Obs.

Wild Man of Orford

Brent geese were on the wing when we heard
such a queer-thin sound running fled,
out of a wept place, found him caught in a net
off Blackstakes, we plugged our ears
at his woundsong, and when a small blue flower
called 'audacity' tore from his heart the Ore
flared crimson and he was gone, his soul a burst
of herrings, and our own stupid fright, loud
as sea-clatter, as sea went bonkers and swept wham
bam back in for her man, overwhelmed us.
