Ipswich Film Society 2026/27 Season
The Farewell – (PG) US/China 2019.
Directed by Lulu Wang.
The family of a dying grandmother keeps the truth from her but plans to use a forthcoming wedding to celebrate her life. Wang’s film offers humour and poignancy but also examines how native and host cultures sometimes jockey for primacy. (100 minutes).
