Ipswich Film Society 2026/27 Season
Souleymane’s Story – (12A) France 2024.
Directed by Boris Lojkine.
An asylum seeker from Equatorial Guinea sleeps at one of the shelters in Paris, but spends his days delivering food orders and learning his speech for the immigration board. In forty-eight hours he is to have his interview. Lojkine’s richly lauded film sticks by its main character through thick and thin; we follow in empathy, and may pause to do the math. (93 minutes).
