Ipswich Film Society 2026/27 Season
Four Mothers – (15) Eire 2024.
Directed by Darren Thornton.
Based on Gianni Di Gregorio’s Mid-August Lunch, the Thorntons’ bracing comedy concerns a writer who, over the course of a trying weekend, must attend to the needs not only of his own frail mother but three other eccentric old ladies as well! The script transfers well from Italy to Ireland, and it won the Audience award at the 2024 London Film Festival. (89 minutes).
