Quatuor Agate with Jonathan Leibovitz clarinet, ICMS Concert. 22nd february 2025 at Ipswich School

Quatuor Agate with Jonathan Leibovitz clarinet

The Quatuor Agate’s name and inspiration comes from Brahms’ second sextet for strings,
played in the opening concert of last year’s season. They have achieved international
recognition since 2021 with their debuts in the major chamber music venues across Europe.

Jonathan Leibovitz is a ‘rising star’ and the winner of top prizes in international
competitions. He gives highly praised solo, concerto and chamber music recitals.

To commemorate our centenary and support the future of chamber music,
ICMS have commissioned a new work by the acclaimed young composer
Sebastian Black. The new composition, for clarinet quintet, will be premiered at
this concert. Quatuor Agate and Jonathan Leibovitz will also ’celebrate the old’
with a performance of the well-loved Mozart Clarinet Quintet.
